Why I want to be a graphic designer!
I have always admired art. Throughout my life I have been a victim of chronic doodling, usually in the margins of my notebooks in high school. Never did I even imagine that I could be an artist. I missed out on art courses in high school, choosing to go the music route instead; however, when it came time to choose a major, I knew that music wasn't it. I had to step back and really look at my passions and what I felt I would be happy with doing for the rest of my life. That was when I really started researching graphic design. What I found astonished me: it was a way for me to connect with the artistic world I loved, while offering enough job security to satisfy my parents. I started seriously looking at the work of graphic artists and quickly became excited about pursuing a career in the same field. Now I find that I cannot look at a magazine ad or billboard without examining the artistic components and giving it my critique. I eagerly await the day when it will be others looking at my work.
